Jesus credit card

Today Adam came running out of primary holding a little Article of Faith card with a picture of Jesus. "Mom, look! I got a Jesus credit card!!!"

it's like this and like that and like this and uh....

Last night we were driving back to Utah County after dinner at my mom's house. I thought I'd really impress my kids by showing off my rapping skills (I still got it). After blasting a little Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg and not missing a single word (clean version, not explicit lyrics) I noticed Cameron yelling something at me. I was so sure she was going to compliment my skills when she stopped me in my tracks, "Mom, this is not appropriate for kids."
Ouch.

still feelin' it

I would officially like to be allowed into the exclusive club of the crafty. Although I'm sure this is a momentary lapse in my otherwise uncreative life, I'm quite proud of the last two days work.

feelin' crafty

My obsessive behavior continues.... I had to go to the fabric store today for some ribbon. Then I saw cute fabric and got an idea. My back aches and my hands are cramped but now I have a cute gift for Auntie Em's baby! Let's just hope Em doesn't read my blog before I give it to her.

New York Regional Mormon Singles Halloween Dance

I love to read. I love books. I love stories. I love words. I love Scrabble. I love dictionaries. I LOVE all that nerdy stuff. The problems is that I am the most addictive, compulsive person I know. I hate projects hanging over my head. We had book club last night. The book for March was presented, I downloaded it to my Kindle around midnight (Kindle is just way too convenient) and I just finished the book.
This might sound impressive to some people that I can finish entire books in one day. It's not. Nothing (and I do mean NOTHING) else in my life gets done when I'm reading. I've been thinking, for the last 30 minutes since I finished my book, I really might be crazy. Truly crazy. This must be why I have to be medicated to sleep every single night of my life. Any time I have an idea, whether it's a book I want to read or a room I want to paint or a party I want to plan I will not rest till it's completed. That's why I'm a terrible activity committee chairperson. I have this date looming over my head and nothing I can do to make it get over any sooner, so I become paralyzed and anxiety-ridden.
There is no point to this post. Just to remind myself not to pick any more books within another month. And if you're looking for a good read, try New York Regional Mormon Singles Halloween Dance. And it's not just for Mormons - there was a whole write-up on it in People magazine and it got 4 stars.
On to the next project!!! Over and out.

Georger Ham Lincoln

Adam: "Today we learned about Georger Ham Lincoln at school. He was the first president."
Hmmmm.....another day well spent at Kindergarten.

rambling

I was getting ready to go to parent teacher conferences and Adam said, "Mom, my teacher might tell you that I was naughty today."
Me: "What were you doing?"
Adam: "Being naughty, I just told you."
******
Eric and Cameron were at the video store last night and Cameron picked up the movie Nine and said, "Dad, I think we would like this movie because it's directed by Tim Burton. He's the same one who directed Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline."
