You know the saying "she's not playing with a full deck"? Well, I'd just like you to know that I'm not typing with a full keyboard. Apparently Luke was making soup for Elmo this morning and needed some ingredients...so there went half the keys on my computer. Yes, he somehow pried off about 15 keys! This is taking a very long time to type.
So we took the kids to see Ratatouille at the theater today. That's a real treat...for all of us. Adam was so frustrated because he didn't weigh enough to keep the seat from folding in on him. It was so cute how upset he was! With some Red Vines and a boat load of popcorn, we were in business. Then half way through the movie Ernie (sitting on Luke's lap) wanted to sit by Elmo (sitting on Adam's lap) but Princess Fiona (with Cam) wouldn't move. And that was it for the movie. What I saw was really good... but we left after the main character got drunk, nursed a hangover at work, then made out with his boss. So, please, someone fill me on how it ended. A crack binge???
It was a busy day for the characters. When we got home from the movie they took a mud bath in a wagon in the backyard and then a hot tub in the washing machine. I have to admit, I couldn't stop laughing watching Shrek, Nemo and all the other friends soaking in the suds. They looked like they were having a good time! The kids didn't think it was very funny. I think they honestly thought I was trying to drown their friends!
It's days like this that I have to just get all this written down because it doesn't seem real. This post would normally take me a couple minutes, but it's taken around 15 because of the 'no keys' thing. I better get my computer fixed or my days as a blogger are up.

What a week
What a week this has been! I just got back from the hospital seeing Ereka. She's doing so well today. And she said that she even got to "talk" to Jordan for a few minutes. (He can't really talk, but he spells out things.) I can't even begin to imagine how emotionally exhausted the Sybrowskys and Boogards are! I know it's been so stressful for them. Everyone just keep on praying for them.
Eric got home today! Hurray! He has been in Philadelphia for work, but he got to go see Lacey's family in Delaware while he was there as well as an Orioles game! So kind of a fun trip. He brought the boys home some little Sesame Street toys; Burt, Elmo and Ernie. Within the first 20 minutes, Elmo was thrown up high on a shelf in the garage (I can't see him, let alone reach him), and Burt and Ernie have both been christened in the toilet. How gross are my boys?
Well, we're off to a neighborhood barbecue. Have I mentioned how much I love my neighborhood?? We have such great friends!

Bad Weekend
What a terrible weekend we had. Not only did Adam have the stomach flu, Eric got it too. But Eric was running a race while he had it! He had the hardest leg of the Wasatch Back Relay and was barfing his guts out through the whole thing. But he did really well anyway. Cameron will tell you that he won the race because he got a medal! She so proud of her daddy.
By yesterday afternoon, everyone was feeling better. Then we got a call from Paige saying that her little sister, Ereka, and brother in-law, Jordan, had gotten in a terrible accident. Ereka was our babysitter all last summer, for those of you who don't remember her. She and her cute husband have only been married for about 2 weeks. Jordan was life flighted to University Hospital and Ereka was taken by ambulance to Jordan Valley hospital. The guy driving the car that hit them died on impact. It was so scary! They are both doing well. Ereka was released from the hospital last night, but Jordan will be in for about a week. They both have all kinds of broken bones and cuts all over them. I'm still in shock that it happened.

I'm glad they're going to be okay. It could have been much worse.
And Jenna - I'm so glad you're home!! I've missed you so much!

Blowing Chunks (AGAIN)
This cannot possibly be my life. While Eric is off running a race, I'm at home, covered head to toe in hives and Adam is barfing his guts out. Didn't we just go through the whole stomach flu thing a couple weeks ago? Luke threw up a few times two days ago. I thought he'd just had too many peaches at Grandma's house. But now Adam has it. I'm bracing myself for a VERY long night. I'm out of Benedryl and can't go to the store. My right eye is swollen nearly shut. I'm very pretty. No wonder Adam is barfing...
Good luck in your race Eric!!

Wingers
I love to listen to Cameron and her friends talk to each other. Their conversations are hilarious. Last night I took Cam and Lizzie to get Bug Juice and suckers (a favorite pass time of ours). On the way home we passed Wingers -
Lizzie: "Cameron, my mom and I like Wingers."
Cameron: "You and your mom like wieners??"
Lizzie: "No! WINGERS!"
Cameron: "Mom, Lizzie is using potty talk!"

Laundry
You know, if it's not the kids causing trouble I seem to make it for myself. Being the genius that I am, I just washed a load of laundry with fertilizer instead of laundry soap. Who left the fertilizer on the dryer?? Oh, that would be me.

Rich
Cameron and Mason were sitting in the backseat of the car having this little conversation.
Mason: "I'm rich."
Cameron: "What does rich mean?"
Mason: "It means that you have lots of toys."
Cameron: "Oh....I'm rich too."

Groundhog Day
Well, Eric is in Tulsa tonight. The boys are at Grandma and Grandpa's house for the night. Cameron and Lizzie (BFF) are dancing around to Beyonce and the Go Go's. It's Girls' Night! You know the saying "absence makes the heart grow fonder"? We're putting it to the test! With Eric working from home lately Tulsa is a good little break. He'll be home tomorrow night. And the boys sometime tomorrow too.
Well, today we had the kids' pictures taken by the cutest girl! Haylee McGuire. Check out her blog. There's a link on this page to Haylee Bean. She's going to have some of my kids' pictures up within a few days. I'm really excited! The boys were terrible and Cameron was a diva. True to nature. Hopefully we got some good ones. I was so stressed out about it. I'm sorry Haylee!
I just had a friend ask how was my weekend. I couldn't stop laughing (a little hysterically). Everyday is Groundhog Day. "Watch the first step, it's a doozy." I hated that movie. But sadly things are a bit repetitive these days. I need to shake it up a bit. Anyone got any good ideas? Kel, wanna have us over again? Just kidding. We've decided to put the kids in swimming lessons. It is going to be a riot to watch the teacher with all our neighbor kids in the class! I can't wait for that. I feel sorry for that teacher already. So that's going to be fun.
Okay, I have good news! They boys didn't destroy a single thing today!! It helps to keep them away from the house (who knows what they did at Riley's house). But they were so good today it actually made me sad to leave them. For about a whole minute. I'm starting to realize that when they're good, I have no good stories for you! I'm so sorry! I did scrub the wood floors last night - wow, new lows. I'll be saying good night now!

Happy Father's Day
I hope everyone had a good Father's Day. Ours was fun. Luke, Adam, Cameron and I made popeye pancakes for Eric. (He's usually the one to make them for us.) Cameron was so excited to give him the present she bought; a nerf basketball hoop so they could play together. The boys got Eric some treats and a golf shirt and a suitcase from all of us. Yes, luggage...
We had the boys in the bathtub because that is the best way to contain them. Eric, Cameron and I were just hanging out in the kitchen when I noticed water dripping from the ceiling. There was already a big puddle on the floor. I ran upstairs to find the entire bathroom was being used as a tub. There was water EVERYWHERE! Please don't tell me that I'm going to have to sponge bathe them for the rest of their childhood.
Church went as you'd expect. I was however surprised that we didn't have any young women today, so I didn't have to teach the lesson that I didn't prepare. That, my friends, is an answered prayer!
We ended up in Provo visiting Eric's dad Larry (who is awesome). We had several games of woofle ball going on and sadly, I think I lost to Brian's dog. And that's about it. I'm calling it a night. Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite.

Remember how I said the boys had tried to flush the ceiling fan remote?? Well the toilet was clogged and causing all kinds of problems for the potty training twins. After Eric tried to plunge many, many, many times and couldn't get it to work, I got out the snake toilet-cleaner-outer thing. I was so proud of myself for knowing how to use it! Anyway, I started pulling things out. First, a binki. Then a lid to a pen, my reading glasses and last, but certainly not least, my engagement ring and my wedding band!
We decided to go to Kelly's house for some wadding pool time. Kelly has the best backyard for kids. She's got a really fun swing set with a slide and sandbox. She has the shade thing with a picnic table. Things started off well, until Adam decided to throw the sand toys into Kelly's window well. Then Cameron melted down over a blue Popsicle. She ended up completely freaking out saying that she hates me, then got soap in her mouth. After about 15 minutes after we got there, we were leaving. I kept threatening Cameron that I was going to drop her off at the police station. But when we got home I cleaned out her bedroom of all toys and books. Now she has to earn them back using nice words and being helpful to me. It might take her 8 years, but hopefully she'll catch on.
Anyway, we're hoping for a better day today. So far they've only thrown their pajama pants over the fence and three balls down the window well. We're crossing our fingers!!

Bunco
I actually won a prize at bunco tonight (though I'm still confused about what it is...)! Some kind of hair product. Anyway, I love all my girlfriends! We have so much fun together. Our 10 year high school reunion is coming up in September and we were all reminiscing about the fun times we had, the boys we used to spy on and the classes we didn't attend. Good times. None of our husbands want to go to the reunion - so we're thinking about going all together. How nerdy are we? We'll see if we even end up going at all.
Okay, we all exchanged our blog sites, so you'll have to check them out. I posted them here in the 'Other Blogs I Read' section. Check them out. Also, my friends are much better at this whole blogging thing and have much more interesting lives.
Colleen and Allison - we miss you!!!

Daily damage assessment
Well, the boys are at it again. I was at bunco with my friends when Eric called to tell me that the boys couldn't go to our neighbor's birthday party. (Seriously, what now?) The boys had thrown all their cars and many other toys down the window well for about the 47th time. Eric took away their blankets (gasp)! All I could hear was screaming at the other end of the line. Good luck putting them to bed without their blankets (glad I'm not there for that).
But Eric did get them to sleep. And when he went into our room he found more chaos. There was a broken hand mirror shattered on the floor. He got that cleaned up and went to adjust the ceiling fan with the remote and as he picked it up, it was dripping. I'll give you one guess where it had been....the toilet! Those boys are TROUBLE! The best part is that I get to do this all over again tomorrow. Yea me!
***I'm posting this the morning after the damage assessment. Apparently I hadn't done a full report when I posted last night. The boys both woke up screaming about their missing blankets and binkies. When I went in to get Adam settled down I found a lovely poop mural above his bed. Yes, poop on the wall! I want to cry. And then I discovered that the fan remote wasn't the only thing they flushed down my toilet. That was probably just the biggest thing. Needless to say, the toilet is clogged with who-knows-what. I'm going to have to try out the snake thing my dad got me. Or call the plumber. If this were a paying job, I would quit.

Night out
Last night the kids were staying at their cousins' house for a sleepover. Happy day! So Eric and I decided to go to Asian Star and see a movie. When we got to Asian Star the whole place was totally empty except for one other table clear across the restaurant. Guess who was at the other table - Gracee and my mom! What are the odds?
You know the saying 'never judge a book by it's cover'? Well, apparently that is not the same when it comes to movies. You actually can judge a movie by the title. We went to see 'Knocked Up'. I know the title is offensive but I thought it looked a little like a romantic comedy, kind of a chick flick. I could not have been more wrong! I have never seen a more offensive movie EVER. The worst part is that a little old couple, not a day younger than 85, was sitting right next to me laughing! And the lady's breath was so stinky I was gagging! Why was she breathing on me? Anyway, my advice is to stay as far as you can away from that movie.
This morning has been so good. With the kids gone, I got to sleep late and go running and clean the playroom. I threw away 2 garbage bags of toys and filled 2 more to take to DI. I am going to get organized with the toys. (I know, Lacey and Jenna are very proud.)
Poor Adam came home with a HUGE scrape from his forehead to his chin. He fell down on cement. So I guess we won't be getting our family pictures done this week. Great.

Summer!!
I am so excited that it's finally warm enough to go to the pool! The best part is that I put the kids in the day care center for an hour and lay out all by myself, then go pick up the kids and let them swim for a couple hours. They were so cute and excited about swimming. Paige borrowed my camera last night so I didn't get any pictures. But believe me, we'll be back.
It's also nice that the kids are finally at an age that I don't have to stay within 2 feet of them all the time. I could sit on my lounge chair and talk to my friends! There is light at the end of a long tunnel!
Tonight Eric and I are going out!! Aunt Michelle is taking the kids for a sleepover. Hurray! We get to eat somewhere besides McDonald's and see an actual movie. Is it nerdy how excited I am?

Growing up WAY too fast
Cameron: "Mom, I need a CD for my room. I want all Gwen Stefani songs. And Beyonce."
Mom: "Oh boy. What have I done?"
__
Later Sunday night I went to check on Cam before I went to bed. She still had her headphones on blasting Beyonce. I think I'm going to download some kids songs today.

100 things about me
Brace yourselves. This is a long one. I was just tagged to do a "100 things about me." You all know how much I love doing those cheesy getting to know your friends surveys - this is along those same lines. And now that I'm doing it I have to tag more blogger friends. So LACEY, COLLEEN, EMILY, ALISON - consider yourselves tagged! And anyone else who reads this (probably nobody) you do it too!!
100 things about me -
1. I always have my toe nails painted. ALWAYS.
2. The smell of fresh flowers reminds me of death.

just another desperate housewife
It's been a while, I know. Do you ever go through times when it feels like your life is crumbling down around you for no particular reason? Well, it's been one of those times for me. My life tends to feel like a mean joke that I just can't seem to laugh at these days. The other night while crying to Eric about being overwhelmed he asked what I really wanted. I told him that I just want to like doing this whole mommy thing. I just can't seem to fake excitement over the kids' bowel movements anymore. It just isn't fascinating no matter how you look at it.
Like Dori on Finding Nemo says, "Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming. Swimming, swimming, swimming, swimming." Today just has to be better than yesterday.
