Get comfy. I'm pretty sure I've completely worn out my normal arsenal of friends that I complain to, so I'm resorting to complaining to my blog.
I have a strict policy in our house. We don't negotiate with terrorists. The good news is that the little terrorists are headed to Guantanamo next week; otherwise known as Grovecrest Elementary School. I'm not sure who's meaner, me or them. I think we're driving each other NUTS! Everything is an argument with them. I can't take it anymore.
They walk into the house at dinner time, "What's that smell?"
Me: "I'm making dinner."
Them: "Gross! I don't like dinner!"
Me: "You don't even know what I'm making! It could be cupcakes and root beer... it's not, but it could be."
It's just not worth it to cook at my house.
Then today Cameron informed her new teacher that her favorite song is an Eminem song about domestic violence. Well, she didn't actually know the name Eminem, but did sing a portion of the song for the teacher. I wanted to hide in a corner.
Every single night when I inform the kids that it's time for bed, Luke screams bloody murder like it's some new torture ritual that I've just invented for the first time.
Don't even get me started on all the shoes those dang boys have lost this summer or the number of times I've had to climb under the neighbor's trampoline to retrieve Crocks.
We'll also just skim over the fact that my 6 year old boys are STILL potty training. Don't tell their first grade teacher. And any of you mothers of twins who call me for parenting advice, don't ask me about toilet training, however I can refer you to a good plumber.
I just had to get all this rambling off my chest. And wish those teachers/prison guards the best of luck with those little terrorists.

Oh - the dinner comment. I hear almost everyday, "I don't like dinner." I have made it a rule in my house that my kids aren't allowed to say anything about cooking. They can say "thank you" and that is it or they are sent to their rooms for the rest of the night. Too bad my three-year-old (who is a little young to be banished to her room for hours) is the biggest complainer.
I feel for you. Come on school!
Hey, I just put Audrey on some great over active bladder medication. Call me. Lol.
Ah, I love the truth. It's so nice to hear that other people struggle with life and kids too! Reading "perfect" blogs make me dry heave. Ha ha. Just kidding, I like nice posts too, but ones like these make me feel normal!
Oh Laurie! It's so good to have you back! I've missed these so real, so honest, so funny and so you posts! We've all had the same moments but you write it down in such a hilarious way that I just want to come sit at your kitchen table and experience it all first hand! I love it! And I love you! Keep writing!
Hilarious! Now that you have a kid-free day, we should go to lunch!
