The S&*! has hit the fan

Sorry to be so disgusting with the title - but such is my life.... I officially give up on potty training. Luke and Adam will probably be the first boys in drivers ed wearing pull-ups. I can't do it anymore. If anyone has advice for me, I'll take it. Remember when I used to find clever little ways to laugh at potty business?? Those days are LONG GONE. It's not funny anymore. I'm not joking when I say that my blood pressure/stress level are up to heights unseen. I knew it was trouble when I offered my teenage niece $2000 to toilet train the boys and she didn't take it. Seriously, help me, PLEASE! What do I do? The stress of it is making me a very unpleasant person! (and I'm usually such a delight....)

Oh Laurie-
Don't stress. They'll do it when they're ready. Connor was 3+ when he finally was and Cohen is only about half way and will be 3 next month. Boys just take longer. Good luck! ~Kelly

Sorry your stressed! I can't imagine doing two boys at the same time. My son was over three years and three months when he was finally trained. My daughter was sooooooo much easier. You are doing the best thing just laying off the training for a while. The will do it when they are ready. I know that makes you want to pull your hair out.

I tried to train Jack and Audrey together, hearing that girls trained younger and easier than boys. BAD idea. She wasn't ready and only trained this summer right before she turned 3.

Jack showed no interest, no matter what I did or said, and finally I backed off and just talked about it. One day not long after he turned 3, I asked if he wanted to wear big boy undies, he said yes and that was it -- dry at night even with only a rare handful of accidents since.

My pediatrician has 3 boys, and she told me not to push that they'd do it when they were ready and boy, was she right. Hate that you're dealing with it -- definitely enjoy that bubble bath (and I'd a pedicure, too)!

I, obviously, have no advice. But I'm sure they won't be wearing pull-ups at drivers ed.
